Gary D. Medlin Sr.

Gary Dean Medlin, Sr. entered his Heavenly home on December 5, 2019. He was born June 4, 1955 in Oklahoma City to Edgar Lee Medlin, Sr. and Mabel Janie Medlin (Haas).

Gary grew up in Oklahoma City and attended Moore High School. In the early 70’s, Gary worked on the property of Resthaven Cemetery where he helped to maintain the grounds, pave the roads around the property, as well as assist families with opening and closing for burials. Gary later started his own construction business, Medlin Foundations, where he worked up until his passing.
Gary’s hobbies included fishing, camping, and spending time at Lake Eufaula with his family. Above all, Gary was a servant to the Lord who faithfully read his bible. He was a dedicated Christian who gave his life to the Lord at the young age of 17, and lived every day of his life serving and loving those around him. Gary was a strong supporter of Christ Gospel Church and loved his church family like his own.

He was preceded in passing by his parents, Edgar Lee Medlin, Sr. and Mabel Janie Medlin (Haas); 5 children who were born sleeping angels; sisters, Ida Lee Medlin (Young) and Norma Jean Medlin (Matthis); brothers, Jerry William Medlin, Gerald William Medlin, and Silas Stephen Medlin.

Survivors include his loving wife, Margie Medlin; children, Richard King and wife Amber, Trace Dunagan and husband Brent, Marcie Thomas and husband Danny, Charity Swanson and husband Kenneth, Gary Medlin, Jr. and wife Tia, and Kammerin White and husband Brian; grandchildren, Sydney Miles, Kaylee King, Katelynn Medlin, Lauren Medlin, Taylor Medlin, Kristin Medlin, Dalton King, Hannah Thomas, Nicole Maynard, Josh Swanson, Aubrie-Anna Swanson, Abigail Swanson, Dylan Medlin, Marlee Medlin, Sam White, Emma White, and Kelsey Richards; great-grandchildren, Logan Parker, Gabriel Medlin, Kinley Swanson, Izaak Maynard, Kaiden Swanson, Wesley Swanson, Wyatt Medlin, and Avery Forge; brothers, Edgar Lee Medlin, Jr. and Danny Allen Medlin; and sister, Janie Marie Winter (Medlin); Gary is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and other extended loving family and friends.
