Gabriel Rivera was born to Isabel and Natalie Rivera (née Hinojosa) on May 23rd, 1957 in Fort Polk South, Louisiana. As part of a U.S. Army family, he grew up all over the world, including in Panama, Okinawa, and Germany. He graduated from Moore High School in 1975 and married the love of his life, Toni Stubblefield, in 1979. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in zoology from the University of Oklahoma in 1980 and welcomed his oldest son Danny later that year. He spent the next several years working in the automotive industry, honing his expertise and love for cars. His younger son Alex was born in 1986, and he graduated from the University of Oklahoma College of Law in 1992. In the early years of his legal career, he worked for the U.S. Trustees Department and clerked for a federal judge in the Western District of Oklahoma. Later, he transitioned to private practice in bankruptcy law. After suffering from a hemorrhagic stroke in 1998, he continued to practice law for nearly two decades. He found joy spending time with family and friends and his beloved golden retrievers Bones and Lucy. He also loved cheering for OU, the Dallas Cowboys, and the Chicago Cubs. His grandchildren adored their Toto. He was preceded in death by his parents and is survived by his wife Toni; his sons Danny and Alex; his daughters-in-law Brooke and Kalli; his grandchildren Benson and Willow; his brothers Robert, Nicholas, Daniel, Paul, and Anthony; his sisters-in-law Pattipeg, Carolyn, Gayla, and Kristi; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
