Florence Etta Wade

Florence Etta Wade passed from this life November 1, 2020. She was born December 30, 1941 in Tulsa, OK to Ernest Ray and Marjorie Ila Wright (Lord).
Florence began elementary school in Amber, OK and the family then moved to the Putnam City area, and then eventually to Choctaw. Florence graduated from Choctaw High School in 1959 and began a career at Southwestern Bell as a long distance operator. She married the love of her life, Douglas Wade, in 1963 and they celebrated 57 years of marriage together. Florence worked with Southwestern Bell until 1972, at which point she stopped working in order to raise her family. In 1981, Florence began another career with Norville Oil, where she served for nearly 23 years before retiring in 2004.
Florence enjoyed cooking, sewing, and crossword puzzles. Above all, she adored her family and loved doing anything for them and with them. She was also a member of Southern Hills Baptist Church and loved her church family as well.
She was preceded in passing by her parents, Ernest and Marjorie Wright; and sister, Linda Nelson.
Those left to continue her legacy include her loving husband, Douglas Wade; son, Scott and Carol Wade, and their son Zachary Wade; daughter, Tracey and Kelly Brown and their children, Blake Brown, Boston Brown, Baylea Miears, Connor Brown, Jaxon Brown, and Jake Brown; brother, Edward Wright and wife Sandy; sisters, Wanda Humphries, Elnora Lowry and husband Jerry, and Esther Hargrave and husband Will; Florence is also survived by a host of loving friends and family.
Visitation is 4:00pm to 8:00pm, Tuesday, November 3, 2020 at Resthaven Funeral Home, 500 S.W. 104th St. Oklahoma City, OK 73139. Services are 10:00am, Wednesday, November 4, 2020 at Southern Hills Baptist Church, 8601 S Pennsylvania Ave, Oklahoma City, OK 73159. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens.
