Elda Louise Reeves

Elda Louise Reeves, age 92, died on Saturday, December 1, 2018, in Moore, Oklahoma.
She was born on June 25, 1926 in Marlow, Oklahoma to parents R.W. and Alice Fincher. She graduated from Marlow High School in May 1943. She married Gene Thomas Reeves on May 27, 1944 and celebrated 55 happy years with him. Elda was a devout Christian with a strong faith in God. She was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother and “Granny,”’who was passionate about her family, and served as a role model for everyone who knew her. Her family, friends, and caregivers loved her deeply and will miss her every day.
She is survived by her daughters, Jane Reeves of Moore, and Ann Jones (Rick) of Buena Vista, Virginia; grandchildren, Tammie Rose (Earl), Danny Holt (Kellie), Randall McCullers (Kim), Tony Holt, (Connie), Amie Yeager, Henley Schmiedel (Doug), Andrews Jones (Jinie), Aaron Minnis (Jennifer); 19 ½ great-grandchildren; 13 ½ great-great-grandchildren; sister, Daphene Jones (Jonarch) of Duncan, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Karen Sue Hatfield; sister, Mary Bratcher; and brothers, R.W. Fincher, Jr. and Clyde Fincher.
Services to celebrate Elda’s life will be 2:00pm Thursday, December 6, 2018 in The Chapel at Resthaven, 500 SW 104th Street, Oklahoma City, OK with Pastor Todd Tiffin officiating. Viewing will be prior to the service from 10:00am to 1:00pm and a reception will be held following the service. At the request of the family, donations can be made in Elida’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Association to help fund research for all types of dementia.
