Donnie R Simpson

Donnie Richard Simpson, Sr. passed from this life February 19, 2020. He was born November 24, 1938 in Shawnee, OK to Jim and Anne Marie Simpson.
Donnie retired from the United States Navy as a Navy Chief. Throughout the years, he also worked for the Oklahoma City Police Department, as well as at the Airport. Donnie married Sherry Simpson on October 11, 2007 after his previous wife of 44 years, Sonja Simpson, passed on June7, 2003. Sherry and Donnie were blessed with 12 years of marriage and many wonderful memories.
Donnie’s pride and joy was his family. He adored his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. On any given day, you could find Donnie drinking his coffee with family and smoking a Pall Mall. He was an amazing man who will be missed and loved forever.
He was preceded in passing by his parents, Jim and Anne Marie Simpson; wife, Sonja Simpson; grandchild, Cru Riley; great-grandchildren, Jake Locke and Kaylee Cruze; and 3 brothers.
Those left to continue his legacy include his loving wife, Sherry Simpson; brother, Larry Simpson and wife Sandy; sons, Don Simpson, Jr. and wife Kelli and Dennis Harris and wife Jackie; daughter, Diane Pringle and husband Craig; brother-in-law, Bobby Linker and wife Melina; 8 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Visitation for Donnie is 4:00pm to 8:00pm, Sunday, February 23, 2020 at Resthaven Funeral Home & Memory Gardens, 500 SW 104th St. Oklahoma City, OK 73139.
Services are 2:00pm, Monday, February 24, 2020 at the Chapel at Resthaven. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens. Condolences may be shared at www.ResthavenOKC.com.
