Donna L Dooley

August 3, 1936 – May 3, 2018 OKLAHOMA CITY A longtime resident of Oklahoma City, Donna Lou (Levene) Dooley moved on to heaven on May 3, 2018.
Donna was born on August 3, 1936, in Kansas City, KS to the late Abe and Esther (Durbin) Levene. She grew up in Kansas City where she met the love of her life, JT Dooley, while they were working at Sears. They were married in 1957 and lived in Kansas City for a short time and moved to Oklahoma City in 1961. They adopted two children, Kristi Lee and John Thomas. Donna was a homemaker and was active in her children’s lives volunteering at school and other functions. She was active in many women’s ministries, Women’s Aglow and bible studies. After JT retired from federal service they travelled, ministered and worked on projects with the RV MAPS program through the Assemblies of God organization. Donna painted, was an avid bird watcher and was always there to help a friend in need. Her smile was infectious, and she loved socializing and encouraging everyone she met. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Donna was predeceased by her husband of 57 years, JT Dooley and her sister Lotus Lee Hiatt. She is survived by her daughter, Kristi (Awtry) and her husband Mark, of Chicago, and their children, Erin, Derek, and Lauren; and son, John and his wife Nancy of Pottsboro, TX and stepchildren, Melanie and Shana and husband Todd and their children. Her walk on this earth impacted on many lives and she will be greatly missed.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Donna's name to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America (https://alzfdn.org/support-us/donate/). Visitation will be held from 12pm – 3pm on Saturday May 12, 2018 at Resthaven Funeral Home, 500 S.W. 104th, Oklahoma City. A celebration of life luncheon and remembrance will also be held during this time at Resthaven. Interment for family will follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens.
