Doneen Julie Collins

Doneen “Nene” Julie Collins passed from this life peacefully at her home after a long battle with cancer on March 17, 2023, at the age of 58, surrounded by the love of her family and friends. Doneen was born in Grant, NE on October 29, 1964 to Obert Don Collins and Geraldine Elizabeth (Gesell) Schuldt. Doneen grew up in Moore, OK and graduated from Moore High School. She later relocated to Mustang with her lifelong love, Ted Weed.

Doneen was very loving, friendly, outgoing, and hardworking, which helped her excel at her career. She loved to laugh and had an incredible sense of humor, which will be greatly missed by the ones who had the chance to experience it. More than anything, Doneen enjoyed time spent with those she loved and treasured all the memories created, especially during the holidays with Easter being her favorite. She absolutely adored visits from her grandchildren. They were her entire world. She also loved all her dogs - notably her wieners. From the time she was a young girl, she always had a pet dog. Nene will always be remembered for her dancing and her smile. She was a loving partner, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Nene will be dearly missed.

Doneen is preceded in death by her parents and stepfather, Henry Schuldt. She is survived by her life partner, Ted Weed; her son, Lee Despain; adopted children, Sierra, Wesley, Karoline; brother, Don Collins; sister, Debbie Lisle; three grandchildren; niece, Tara Grissom and husband, Riley; nephew, Dustin Collins; many cousins, and dear loving friends. 

Doneen’s life will be celebrated with funeral services at 2:00p.m. on Friday, March 24, 2023 at Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens.
