Donald Grummer

Donald Grummer (Don) 94 passed away on July 27, 2018 in Oklahoma City, OK. He was born August 24, 1923 to Norman and Adelia Grummer in Okarche, OK and was baptized September 2, 1923 and confirmed March 21, 1937, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Okarche, OK. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy; parents; brothers, Kenneth, and Duane; and sister, Marilyn Torbeck. He was employed with the US Civil Service Commission and retired from Tinker Air Force Base as a crew chief in aircraft maintenance. He believed that his family members were a gift from God which included his wife Dorothy of 72 years; three sons, Larry and wife Darlene Grummer, Dr. Bruce Grummer and wife Linda, and Keith and wife Gayla Grummer, all of Oklahoma City, OK.; seven grandchildren; fourteen grandchildren; five great grandchildren; brother, Rev. Roger Grummer; two sisters, Dorothy Stewart and Norman Jean Kirsch; and many relatives and friends. He taught Sunday School for many years and enjoyed teaching the Men’s Bible Study Group on Wednesday morning along with Adult Bible Class on Sunday at Trinity Lutheran Church. One of his favorite scriptures verses was the text of his wedding sermon: Hebrews 13:5 which reads, “and God says, I will never leave you or forsake you.” Services will be held 10:00 am Monday, July 30, 2018 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Moore, OK with interment to follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens.
