Tribute

Friends and family are invited to attend a celebration of Don’s life on Friday, October 22, 2021 at 2:00 pm at Resthaven Memorial Chapel located at 500 SW 104th Street, Oklahoma City, OK. Viewing will be Friday from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm before his Celebration of Life Service.  
 
Don G. Blair, age 91, entered the gates of heaven to meet his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, October 19, 2021. Don was born on September 11, 1930 in Oklahoma City, OK to Joseph Blair and Mary Bumpus Blair.
 
After graduating from Capitol Hill High School, Don went to work for Dorothy Haggard Interiors before he opened his own successful upholstery shop in Oklahoma City. Don and Betty owned and managed Blairs Upholstery for many years until their son, Virgil took over the business.
 
While in high school, Don met the love of his life, Betty Mercer. They were married on June 7th, 1949 and together had three children;  Larry Blair and wife Yvonne, Virgil Blair and his wife Julie, and Howard Blair and his wife Cindy.  Don and Betty were blessed with many  grand children, great grand, and great great grand children.
 
The Blair family moved to southwest OKC where they attended    South   Lee United Methodist Church.  Don and Betty later moved to Mustang, OK to enjoy their retirement home and acerage.   They attended Covenant Life Church where Don was an active member of the chior. Don was an Eagle Scout and served as a Boy Scout leader.  He loved throwing horseshoes and was an active member of the local club.   Don loved the Lord, camping out at Sulphur National Park, spending time with family and friends, and listening to Christian gospel singing.
 
Don is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Mary Blair, two brothers, and one sister.  He is survived by his wife Betty, of the home, their children, and many grands.
