Devonis LaDell Melot

Devonis Ladell Melot passed away peacefully at his home on September 24, 2020. He was born on February 3, 1941 in Wanette, OK to John Edward Melot and Mary Alice (Boler) Melot.  Devo graduated from Wanette High School and attended the University of Oklahoma.  He worked at Sterrs Grocery, Norman and in the business offices of Holiday Inn, Oklahoma City and Hollywood Texaco, Norman.  After retiring, his favorite place to spend time was on the family farm in Wanette.  He is survived by his partner, Randy Vicknair; brother, Richard Melot and his wife, Denise, Stillwater; sister, Faye(Melot) Schlieman, San Antonio, TX; nephew, John Melot; niece, Lisa (Melot) Andrews; great niece, Meagan (Andrews) Kline and her husband, Justin and their children Bennett Kline and Sutton Kline.; great nephew, Zachary Andrews. Visitation for Devonis is Sunday, Sept. 27, 2020 from 1pm to 4pm, and Monday, Sept. 28, 2020 from 4pm to 7pm at Resthaven Funeral Home. Services are 10:00am, Tuesday, Sept. 29, 2020 at the Chapel at Resthaven. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens. Condolences may be shared at www.ResthavenOKC.com.
