HUTCHISON, Darrell Truman was born on March 10, 1941 in Oklahoma City, OK to Hazel Stevens and Erbie Lee Hutchison. After a brief illness, Darrell went to be with his Lord on March 16, 2023.
Darrell leaves behind his wife, Shirley; his two daughters, Elizabeth Kay Hutchison and Carrell Dee Hutchison; four granddaughters, Nikole Loveless, Kristina Holmes, Kali Nakvinda and Courtney Hawkins; and five great grandchildren, Madison and Camden Loveless, .Lyle J. and Cheyenne Holmes, and Brodyn Hall and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Linda Gayle Hutchison; his parents, Hazel and Erbie Hutchison; his four brothers, Luther Ray Hutchison, Walter J. Hutchison, Leroy Hutchison and Harvey Hutchison; and his sister, Patricia Maxey.
Darrell worked as a diesel mechanic and quality assurance inspector in a supervisory/managerial capacity in various areas of the United States as well as Turkey.
Darrell was deeply religious and was involved in his church until his death. He was a man who knew neither race, religion or national origin in his dealings with his fellow man. He interacted with everyone from four star generals to street sweepers with respect and was, in turn, respected by them.
He loved building things in wood and built toy boxes, bookcases, and miniature kitchen sets among other things. Darrell also loved the freedom he got on his Gold Wing motorcycle and the fun and excitement of a “poker run”.
Darrell loved his daughters, his granddaughters and his great grandchildren, but his greatest loves were his wife, Shirley, and the Lord.
