Tribute

Dana Lorain Moody entered her heavenly home on August 9, 2022. She was born September 16, 1934, in Fort Worth, TX to Walter Edward Weems and Leta Burl Weems (Bolling). Dana grew up in Fort Worth and graduated from Paschal High School. She married the love of her live, Paul Moody, on June 5, 1955. Paul and Dana made their home in Oklahoma City, where they were blessed with 63 years of marriage prior to Paul’s passing on December 6, 2018.
Dana went on to obtain a bachelor’s degree in early education from the University of Oklahoma. She taught for more than 30 years in Oklahoma City Public Schools and was passionate about her career and making a difference in the lives of the numerous students she encountered over time.
Dana and Paul were devoted members at Southern Hills Baptist Church for over 50 years and taught Sunday school for many of those years. Dana had a passion for art and was an excellent painter. She loved spending time doing oil paintings and drawings. Dana’s pride and joy was her family. She adored her grandchildren and cherished them dearly. Dana had a gift of hospitality and loved hosting family and friends at her home.
She was preceded in death, by her husband, Paul Moody; parents, Walter and Leta Weems; brother, Walter Weems, Jr. and sister, Suzie Norton, and one great-grandson, Jesse Grdina.
Those left to continue her legacy include her son, Mark Moody, and wife Kathy; granddaughter, Heather Moody and fiancé, Larry Walsh, great- granddaughter, Kyla Moody and partner, William van den Boom, great-great granddaughter, Melody and step great-grandson, Noah; Grandson, Matthew Moody and great-granddaughter, Madison and great-grandson, Cooper.
Daughter, Shelley Fluke and husband John and grandsons, John David Fluke and Michael Fluke and wife, Fiona.
Daughter, Lynn Maclin, and husband Tom; grandchildren Natalie Bohn and husband David, great-grandsons, Jacob, Ethan, and Luke; Emily Tinkham and husband Aaron, great-granddaughters, Isabella, Katelyn and Evelyn, and great-grandsons, Joey and Tommy; Amy Cranford and husband Kyle, and great-granddaughter, Madelynn; Granddaughter, Britney Grdina and husband Jim, great-grandsons, James, Johnny, Bobby, and great-granddaughter, Rebecca.
Dana's Celebration of Life service is 10:00am, Friday, August 26, 2022 at the Chapel at Southern Hills Baptist Church.
