Clara “Janice” Collins was born on January 10, 1925 to Joe and Lillie (Swanner) Bickle in Wylie, TX. She grew up on the family farm in Krum, TX along with her siblings Doris and Jerry. Janice passed from this life on March 10, 2023 at the remarkable age of 98.
She married Andrew W. Collins on October 5, 1946 in Oklahoma City, OK. They were married for 45 years until Andy preceded her in death on May 13, 1992. Janice was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who always put her family first. She was a very caring, selfless individual who was loved and will be greatly missed by everyone that knew her.
She is survived by her son, Bill Collins and wife, Katsy of Plano, TX; daughter, Kim Dietz of Pawnee, OK;
three grandchildren, Kacey Mills and husband, Devin of Pawnee, OK, Zach Collins of Plano, TX, Molly
Collins of Plano, TX; one great-grandson, Devin Mills, Jr. of Pawnee, OK; brother, Jerry Bickle and wife, Lou of Cypress, TX; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Lillie Bickle; husband, A.W. “Andy” Collins; sister, Doris Cooley; son-in-law, Lewie Dietz.
Janice’s life will be celebrated with funeral services at 2:00p.m. on Saturday, March 18, 2023 at Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens. Visitation will be held from 4:00p.m. – 8:00p.m. on Friday, March 17, 2023 at Resthaven Funeral Home.
