Christena Teel Burba of Edmond, Oklahoma, passed away on October 14, 2020, in Edmond, Oklahoma, at the age of 91 years.

Christena Teel Burba was born on December 24, 1928, in Mountain View, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of Charlie C. and Fannie Estella (Johnson) Teel. She grew up very involved in the Church of Christ ministry and loved to sing, her family sang after dinner around the table most every night. She also grew up traveling from Mountain View, Oklahoma, to Hughson, California with her family during the 1940’s going to school, working in the cotton farm and dairy farm. She graduated from high school in Hughson, California. Following her education she moved to Oklahoma City in 1960 and began her career working in the Oklahoma business community as an accountant in land development and oil and gas for over forty years. Companies include HMIC and Home Industries later known as LASSO Corp. She met and worked with many wonderful friends through the years. Many who have preceded her in death, retiring from Lasso Corp in 1997 to travel, enjoy spending time with her family, reading her romance novels and eating chocolate.
She married Robert C. Burba October 19, 1973, not only did she gain a wonderful loving husband she also added his 3 children to love and cherish as her own, Doug, Cindy and Gordon. She loved her family above all else. She sacrificed herself and time for others and always had an open heart and a listening ear. She moved to Edmond six years ago to be with her daughter Beth living there until her death.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert C. Burba; her parents, Charlie and Fannie Teel; and all her brothers and sisters.

Survived by her daughter, Beth Clark and husband J. R.; grandsons, Travis and Nathan Clark; her son, Doug Burba and wife Ruth; her daughter, Cindy Burba; grandson, William Cosky, wife Julie; great grandchildren, Max and Faith Cosky; and her son Gordon Burba and wife Kristie.

Graveside services are scheduled for 1:30pm Monday, October 19, 2020, at the Resthaven Memory Gardens.
