Charlotte Austin

October 13, 2018 brought to a close 81 years of a life well lived for Charlotte Arlene Austin of Oklahoma City. She was born November 9, 1936 to Clara and Oscar Kirby. A 1955 graduate of Capitol Hill High School, Charlotte went on to enjoy a 30 plus year career as a hairdresser for J.C. Penny. She married the love of her life, Paul Gene Austin and they made their home in Oklahoma City.
Charlotte was an avid bowler. She was very involved in her church and loved cooking for her Sunday School class. Charlotte was active with Mobile Meals for many, many years. She enjoyed watching sports and cheering on her OU Sooners and Dallas Cowboys. Charlotte’s great joy was spending time with her family and babysitting the grandkids and great-grandkids. They loved putting makeup on Nanny and cooking with her.
Charlotte will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Those kept in God’s care are her children, Gary Austin and wife Kathy, Rhonda Crews and husband Dale; grandkids, Rachel Wyatt and husband Jayson, Greg Austin, Cara Jones and husband Roderic, Becca Langley and husband Josh; great-grandkids, Tyler, Kirby, Avery, Colton, Kylee, Makenna, Alyvia, Maya, Chandler, Zoey; and a host of other family and friends.
