Charley Leo Scott stepped into an eternity in heaven on August 29 at 2:45pm at Sunset Estates Nursing Home in Purcell, OK. Charley was born to Colbert Scott and Beulah Louiza Crouch Scott on September 13, 1929 in Wanette where he lived until he married his wife, Frances, of 66 years. Shortly after their wedding, he joined the US Army where he honorably served 2 years during the Korean War. In the early 60's Charley and Frances moved to an acreage north of Moore, OK where they raised 4 boys and lived for over 35 years. After a short time of living in Colorado, they moved back to rural Oklahoma where they have spent the last 17 years. No matter where they lived, Charley and Frances attended church and sang beautiful songs together. Most recently at the Truth Free Will Baptist in Purcell OK where he was a member.
Charley was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Garvin, Harvey, Fred, Billy, Ray and Johnny, sister Arizona, Dovey and Helen, son Danny and Great-grand daughter Shiloh.
He is survived by his wife Frances of the home; Sister Louvinia Judy of Oklahoma City, Ok; Sons Dale and wife Gina of Moore, Ok; Dean and wife Anita of Wanette, OK; and Doug and wife Karen of Tuttle, Ok. Grandchildren Brian and wife Alisa of Ft Worth TX, Andrew and wife Ashley of Oklahoma City, OK, Deana and husband Dustin of Challis, ID, Jason and fiancée Priscilla of Moore OK, JD and wife Misty of Lexington, OK, Brad and wife Katrina of Pocasett, OK, and Mindy of Moore OK; Seven great-grandchildren and a host of spiritually adopted children, grandchildren and great-grand children as well as nieces and nephews. The family will greet friends on Resthaven Funeral Home on Friday from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Services to celebrate Charley’s life will be held 10:00 am Saturday, September 1, 2017 at The Chapel at Resthaven. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to Randall University (3701 S I-35 Service Rd, Moore, OK 73160).
