Charles Gilbert Braun

Charles Gilbert Braun passed away at his home on Tuesday, March 10, 2020 at the age of 67.  Charles was born in Oklahoma City on March 6, 1953.  He attended Sacred Heart Catholic School and later graduated from Mount St. Mary High School, where he was active on the football and basketball teams.  Upon graduation, he attended Oklahoma City University, where he earned his bachelor’s degree.  During which he met his future wife, Sandy.  They were married on May 23, 1974.  He went on to graduate from the OCU law school.  He spent the majority of his career working at two Oklahoma City law firms, focusing his practice on workers comp defense.  He enjoyed spending time with his family, including coaching his sons in little league baseball and basketball.  He also enjoyed playing golf and being active in the Mount St. Mary community. 
 
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Sandy; son and daughter-in-law, Justin and Amy Braun of Moore; son and daughter-in-law, Adam and Lindsay Braun of Yukon; son and daughter-in-law, Tim and Nikki Braun of Oklahoma City; grandchildren Kylie, Tatum, Jackson, Charles, and Nate; sister Patricia Wootan of New York; sister Nancy Largent of Oklahoma City; sister and brother-in-law Margaret and Scott Raymond of Oklahoma City; numerous nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Gilbert and Anna Braun; his sister and brother-in-law Barbara and Bob Burrows.  Charlie will be missed by all who knew him. 

Visitation is 4:00pm-8:00pm, Friday, March 13, 2020 at Resthaven Funeral Home, OKC. A Wake service will begin at 6:30pm. Mass of Christian Burial is 10:00am, Saturday, March 14, 2020 at St. Joseph’s Old Cathedral, 307 N.W. 4th St., OKC. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery.
