Blanchie "Ruth" Carey

Ruth went to be with the Lord on April 30, 2022 at the age of 95. Born 7-21-1926 in Clarksville, Texas, Ruth was a resident of the Village at Oakwood in Oklahoma City. She enjoyed attending Del Baptist Temple in Del City, OK and visiting with her friends at the church. She also loved working on her many hobby projects. Ruth spent most of her working career at Jack’s Service Company as a wholesale ticket marker.
Preceding Ruth in death are her parents, Pino and Maude Burnett and brother, Junior Burnett. She is survived by son, Johnny Carey and his wife Ramona of Norman, OK; grandson and wife, Jeremy and Heidi Carey, of Moore, and great grandchildren Hannah and Zach Carey; sister Doris Adams of Edmond; brother and wife, Gordon and Ronnie Burnett of Oklahoma City; and several nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
A very special thank you goes to the Village at Oakwood staff for the care and concern given Ruth during the years she lived there. Ruth’s family is very grateful to these individuals.
A graveside service for Ruth will be held Friday, May 6, 2022 at 10:00AM at Resthaven Cemetery, 500 SW 104th, Oklahoma City, OK
Serving as pallbearers are Jeremy Carey, Zach Carey, Hannah Carey, Rodney Adams, James Stanfill, and Darren Bean.
