Billie retired years ago as an insurance servicing clerk but devoted much of her time working with her church, Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, now named the Community of Christ Church. She spent summers teaching, directing, and cooking for church youth camps, family reunions, and Vacation Bible Schools. She was ordained to the office Elder in the RLDS church in 1989.
Billie was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who loved gardening, working in her flower beds and potted plants, cooking, baking, canning vegetables and jams/jellies. She thrilled everyone for years with her Christmas Tea Rings and Cherry Bonbon cookies. She also had special place in her heart for those less fortunate and helped organize food and toy drives for the needy as well as volunteered with the American Red Cross.
We give our thanks and appreciation to MRC Creekside Retirement Community for seven years of loving care of our Mom and to Heart to Heart Hospice Care.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Creekside Benevolent Fund @ www.mrcaff.org/giving or to her church, Community of Christ in Independence MO.
