Be the first to offer your condolences on Betty's Tribute Wall
Betty “Irene” Cooper passed peacefully on January 19, 2020 in her home of more than 55 years. She was born July 9, 1926 in Heavener, Oklahoma to Dan Fioroni and Clementine Fioroni (Lorenzo).
Irene married the love of her life, Harvey Cooper, on September 14, 1947. They were blessed with 68 years of marriage prior to Harvey’s passing in 2016. Irene was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church although her declining health prevented her from attending as often as she desired in the recent years. Irene was a Savvy businesswoman, successfully owning and operating Forest Lumber Company alongside Harvey for more than 40 years. She also participated as Oklahoma City Art Museum Docent and was a member of the Money Maids Investment Club. She enjoyed her close Italian family and playing Mahjong with a group of her friends. Irene loved to throw themed parties for her entire family and close friends.
Irene was preceded in passing by her parents, Dan and Clementine “Tenie” Fioroni and sister Josephine Fioroni Klopp.
Those left to continue her legacy include her daughter, Lynda A. Luff and Mark R. Luff of Oklahoma City; son H. Mike Cooper and Christine Petty Cooper of Norman; grandchildren, Erin M. Holman, Bryan A. Luff, Daniela D. Cooper, and Harvey F. Cooper II; great-grandson, Larkin C.J. Holman; and her brother Daniel J. Fioroni. Irene is also survived by a host of many loving nieces and nephews who will all miss her dearly.
Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10:00 am Thursday, January 30, 2020 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in OKC. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens in OKC. Condolences may be shared at www.ResthavenOKC.com .
