Betty “Jo” Adkisson passed from this life February 7, 2020 in Oklahoma City. She was born January 22, 1933 in Lufkin, Texas.
Jo attended school in Oklahoma City at Capitol Hill. She married the love of her life, Jack Adkisson, on December 3, 1949. Jo was an extremely talented pattern cutter and worked at a garment factory for over 20 years. Her hobbies included crosswords, deer hunting, and spending time outdoors. In addition, she and Jack also spent much time at Old Paris Flea Market where they had a booth and sold custom knives and axe handles. Above all, Jo loved spending time with her family.
She was preceded in passing by her loving husband, Jack Adkisson; mother, Vallie Starnes and husband Jesse; father, Ravel Sadler; and brother, Bob Sadler and wife Doris.
Survivors include her sons, Robby Adkisson and wife Beverly of Locust Grove, and Randy Adkisson and wife Brenda of Oklahoma City; grandchildren, Leslie Gregory and husband Jason, Stormy Baur and husband Greg, and Austin Adkisson and wife Ashley; great grandchildren, Hailey and Addison Gregory, Kanton and Siri Baur, and Bentley and Oakley Adkisson; and great-great grandchild, Asher Gregory. Jo is also survived by a host of loving extended family and friends.
Jo was a gentle spirit who will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Jo will be laid to rest next to her husband at Resthaven Memory Gardens. The family will hold private services. Condolences may be shared at www.ResthavenOKC.com.
