Anna Frances Caster

Anna Frances Caster was born September 8th, 1924 in Madil, Oklahoma to 

 David and Francis Giggers. She grew up in Hennepin, Oklahoma with her parents and seven siblings.

Later in life she moved to the Chicago area where she met Giles Caster of Monroe, LA through an introduction from her cousin James McElroy. On March 1st, 1970 Anna and Giles were united in marriage, their union was blessed with one son. Right after their marriage they purchased a home on Wallace street in Gary, IN. 

Anna was very social and active in her community. She was a member of First A.M.E church where she was a part of the United Male Chorus Booster Club. She was revered for her extraordinary culinary skills where she would single-handedly cook meals for fundraisers, fashion shows, and other organizational events, feeding up to hundreds of people. She had a reputation for her impeccable sense of style and her green thumb in gardening. 

In 2004, Anna moved back to Oklahoma City with her son, Henry Sr. Shortly after she was joined by her 4 grandchildren who she lovingly guided and supported until they completed their high school education. She spent the rest of her days earnestly, touching the lives of her family and community with her genuine and caring nature.

Anna departed this life peacefully in her home on Wednesday April 3rd, 2024. She leaves to cherish her memory her son, Henry A. Caster Sr; step-daughter: Lottie B. Lawson; six grandchildren: Henry A. Caster Jr, Khloe Caster, Dominique Caster, Kristin Caster, Kendrick Caster, and Marilyn Lawson; four great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Services are 2:00pm, Saturday, April 13, 2024 at the Chapel at Resthaven.
