Shandana Majors

January 13, 1982 ~ May 31, 2017 (age 35) 35 Years Old

Shandana Sherman Majors, affectionately known as “Diddy,” passed away May 31, 2017. He was born January 13, 1982 in Lawton, OK to Sherman Majors and Madonna Ferguson-Majors. Shandana was born and raised in Lawton and attended Douglas Elementary, Tomlinson Jr. High, and Lawton High School. He worked for Sonic in both Lawton and Norman as a manager and part owner before becoming involved in the auto sales industry.

He was currently employed at Battison Honda, and had been there over 4 years, most recently as a General Sales Manager. His career, along with his fun-loving, compassionate personality helped him to create countless friendships over the years.

In 2007, he met Rachel Summer while they were both working in Edmond. Shandana and Rachel were married November 5, 2010 in El Reno and were later blessed with two precious children, Malea and Morgan.

Shandana was an avid body builder, enjoyed hiking in the Wichita Mountains, and performing DIY repairs around his home. He was also a part of the Emilio Firme car club in his earlier years; But most of all, he cherished spending time with his children. Shandana often surrounded himself with music. He exhibited a true appreciation for all forms of musical expression. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Shandana was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Netty Jo Hutchinson-Monetathchi, paternal grandmother, Sophia Mae Majors, and paternal aunt Alice (Fray) Majors.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory: beloved wife, Rachel Majors; children, Malea Soon-Jee Majors and Morgan Oliver Majors; parents, Sherman and Madonna Majors; sisters, Autumn Majors, Ebony Harold, Contessa Lamar, Lilith Snowden and Anastasia Collins; aunts, Lena Hilliard Peggy Majors, Emma Majors, Sue Majors, Caroline Belvin, Ruby Majors, and Joanne Jones; uncles, Charles Majors, Eric Monetathchi, Sean Monetathchi and James (Jimmy) M. Ferguson and host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

A celebration of Shandana's life will be held 11am Friday, June 9 in the Chapel at Resthaven. A graveside ceremony will follow at 2:00pm at Highland Cemetery in Lawton, OK.
