Raymond E. Tice

May 27, 1958 ~ September 7, 2017 (age 59) 59 Years Old
September 7, 2017 brought to a close 59 years of a life well lived for Raymond Earl Tice. He was born May 27, 1958 in Oklahoma City to Eleanor Ann (Scott) and Kenneth Earl Tice. He was a graduate of Classen High School and attended a year of college at OU. Raymond’s dream was to become a criminal lawyer.
A lifelong Oklahoma City resident, Raymond married Debora Harvey on May 14, 1977. He worked for 24 years at Western Electric which became Celestica as an electronic specialist. Raymond then went to work for Newcastle Gaming Center for five years as a game tech, while running his own pool and landscaping business with his wife and sons, with too many customers to count. Raymond worked hard all of his life until becoming disabled.
Coaching both of his sons David and Jeffrey in baseball, basketball and football was Raymond’s life. He was so very proud when they both went on to play baseball in college, both pitchers like their dad, and he was proud of the men they have become, and all that they’ve done with their lives.
Raymond was most proud of being a papa and grandad to his grandkids LoGunn, CaLyxx, Kyler and Talyn and now his first great-grandson Jaxen. These babies were his world, family meant everything to Raymond.
He was a wonderful husband, father, papa, grandad and great-grandad, son, brother, uncle and coach, loved by so many, and the lives he’s touched are too many to count.
Raymond was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth which he loved very much; brother, David Buchanan; all four grandparents; Debora’s mother, Betty who loved Raymond very much and he loved her. When he would drop a piece of ice from the fridge he would say “Debbie your Mom is here!”; and several aunts and uncles.
Cherishing his memories are his wife of 40 and a half years, Debora Tice; sons, David Tice and Jeff Tice and wife Stephanie; mother, Eleanor Whitener; brothers, Steve Buchanan and wife Barbara and Gene Tice and wife Dena; sister, Neva Stubbs Parker; grandchildren, LoGunn and fiancée Karli, CaLyxx, Kyler, Talyn and great-grandson, Jaxen; nieces and nephews, Marcia and her husband Jerry and two children, Stephanie and her husband Steve and three children, Jesse, Kristen and her husband Josh, Rachel and Amy; Debora’s family who loved him very much, his father-in-law, Earnest Harvey and wife Doris; sister-in-law Sharon and nephew Brandon, sister-in-law Carrie and her husband Brian and son Josh and wife Jennifer and their two children, and daughter Ashley and husband Marshall and their two children; brother-in-law Tony and his wife Terri and his daughter Tara and husband Dillon and their child, Trisha and husband Jason and their four children, son TJ and Nate, and daughters, Aysha and Alexis .
The celebration of life for Raymond will be 3:00pm Sunday, September 17, 2017 in The Chapel at Resthaven. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Resthaven Funeral Home.
