A celebration of Paul’s life will be held Friday, October 20 from 11am-1pm in the Family Life Center at Resthaven Funeral Home. Paul Vincent Bergschneider passed from this life September 23, 2017 after a valiant battle with Parkinson’s disease and Lewy Body Dementia. He was born September 7, 1940 in Oklahoma City to Vincent T. and Pauline (Boudreau) Bergschneider.

Paul was an electrical engineer who worked for the Space and Naval Warfare System in submarine communications in Washington, D.C. and Charleston, SC. As a civilian worker for the Dept. of the Navy’s Naval Electronic Systems, Paul was the engineer in charge of the Extremely Low Frequency (ELF) Communications at the Wisconsin Test Facility at Clam Lake.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory: beloved wife, Sonya S. Bergschneider; sisters, Vincie Logan and husband Wendell of Denver, CO and Susan B. Cole of Aurora, CO; daughter, Christina Bergschneider; adopted daughter of the heart, Jennifer Carroll of North Charleston, SC; many cousins and friends; and his two Basset Hounds, Beaureguard and Mac. He was preceded in death by his parents; and son, Richard Bergschneider.

The family wishes to thank Autumn Leaves Memory Care and Tender Care Hospice for their loving care, as well as many friends and family.
