Welcome to the memorial page for

Loren Chenoweth

November 5, 1936 ~ February 10, 2017 (age 80)
Loren Dale Chenoweth, 80, passed from this life on February 10, 2017. He was born November 5, 1936 in Bartlesville, OK to Earnest Walker and Agnes Alleese Chenoweth. During his life, Loren attended and graduated from Oklahoma A&M as a diesel mechanic. He worked for many years at CMI Corporation and later operated and co-owned a road construction company. He retired as a diesel mechanic from Quickway Excavation.

He had a lifelong passion for horses and owned many over his lifetime. He enjoyed riding, roping, bulldogging, and just being around horses.  He was also a gifted welded art sculptor and could also paint. He enjoyed working in his shop, doing whatever needed to be done to fix things, or just tinkering around. We truly believe there was nothing our Daddy couldn’t do without at least trying. “Can’t” just wasn’t in his vocabulary. He absolutely loved when his family was together and he was the life of the party! He never met a stranger and there was nothing he wouldn’t do for his friends-- and everyone was his friend.
Loren was preceded in death by his parents; and sisters, Sue Jane Pope and June Marie Day.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory: beloved wife, Jo Anne Gravitt; daughters: Lori Chenoweth Cochran, Lynda Chenoweth Baker, Nancy Chenoweth Zabel, Kristina and husband Bill Neighbors all of Moore, and Stephanie Gravitt of Norman; son, Gary Gravitt of Newalla; 28 grandchildren; and 34 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Tuesday from 8am-8pm. A celebration of Loren’s life will be held 10am Wednesday, February 15 in the Chapel at Resthaven.
