After 81 years of a life well lived, Kenneth Earl Bowling, affectionately known as “Easy Roller” and “Chief Big Nose,” passed from this life on April 25, 2017. He was born August 30, 1935 in Oklahoma City to John Eldon and Ruth Ellen (Woods) Bowling.
During his life, Kenneth attended Capitol Hill High School. His working life was spent as a truck driver, which he did for more than 45 years. He drove for Humpty Dumpty Grocery Stores, and then went on to drive for Roadway Express, where he retired in 1996 after more than 35 years of service. He was recognized as a 3 million mile driver with Roadway and was also a member of the Teamsters Union 886 in Oklahoma City.
A faithful Christian man, Kenneth had been a loyal member of Rancho Village Baptist Church for more than 25 years. He also helped start two churches in Oklahoma City with fellow truck drivers for the community so they could all share God’s love.
In his free time, Kenneth enjoyed taking his RV to Fort Cobb and Arbuckle Lake to relax. He was a devout husband and father who loved his family deeply and will be deeply missed by his by all who knew and loved him.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his first wife, Barbara Jane Bowling; father, John Bowling; mother, Ruth Jennings; brothers: Donald Gene Bowling, Phillip Hayes, and Larry Bowling.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory: beloved wife, Frances Bowling; children: Kenneth Dale Bowling and wife Carlotta, and Lisa Capistrano; stepchildren: Samantha Griffin, John Thomas, Beverly Thomas, and Buddy Thomas; 8 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; brother, John L. Bowling and wife Sharon; and sister, Nancy Lovelady and husband Henry.
