Uncle John had a great sense of humor (we spent years emailing jokes to each other) and brought a lot of joy to our family. He loved to tease my redheaded son and even nicknamed him "Rusty". Every time I saw him I felt like I had a piece of my mother. He will be missed, but has joined his sister in heaven.

In 1974 John and his sister Lenore reconnected after being separated for decades. This reunion was a turning point in the Maltese family. I am grateful for having a close relationship with my Uncle John for most of my adult life. He made a positive impact on us in many ways. I thank God for giving me Uncle John.

John you were one of the most instrumental people in guiding me on my life path, in to the U.S. Air Force and later in to Law enforcement as a Deputy Sheriff and then as a police officer. Myself and my family will be forever grateful for your presents on this earth and as a part of our family! You will be greatly missed.
