September 18, 2017 brought to a close 92 years of a life well lived for Jesse C. Jones. He was born November 19, 1924 in Hobart, Oklahoma to Russell and Ester Jones. They moved to Oklahoma City in 1926. Jesse graduated from Capitol Hill High School in 1942. He then joined the United States Army, serving in the Pacific Theater as a radio telephone operator. After returning home Jesse met his future bride of 65 years, Dorothy Spencer and they were married on February 15, 1947. There were three children born to their union. Jesse loved music, playing a lot of different instruments, making it look easy. He wrote the lyrics and music to numerous songs. Jesse retired from Tinker Field in 1975, and then had his own business tuning pianos until retiring for good in 1997. He went back to college at Oklahoma Baptist University graduating in December of 1995 at the age of 71 years young. Jesse loved being involved in the church, singing in the choir. He always kept his faith in God no matter how bad things may have been, Jesse would always say that God was there to help. He was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy; parents, Russell and Ester; sisters, Betty, Estellene and Ruth; and grandson, Brandon. Jesse leaves in God’s care his sons, Jack Jones and Russell Jones; daughter, Jeannie Bailey; sister-in-law Nina Fretz; and grandchildren, Nikki Lewis, Dustin Miller, Rusty Jones, Lacey Smith, Kelly Moore and Daniel Bailey.
