Genevieve Emma Caffrey was born March 22, 1916 in Tuttle, OK to Charles Martin and Gertrude Mildred Cassady. She passed from this life June 1, 2017 at the age of 101. She married Terry Caffrey November 29, 1939 and they were married 57 years until his death in 1997.

Preceding her in death: her only son, Chris in 1986; and her brother, Chas Cassady in 1995. She is survived by: two daughters, Patsy Williams and husband Bob of Barrington, IL, and Kathy Schumacher and husband Greg of Chickasha, OK; grandson, Bob Williams and wife Stephanie and their children, Bobby and Charlotte; granddaughter, Jesseca McCalla and husband Matt and their son, Carter; niece, Kelly Bagnaro and husband Joe; and nephew, Mike Cassady and wife Linda.

Genevieve worked as a manager and cook for Sacred Heart Catholic School’s cafeteria for 22 years. She will be remembered by many former Sacred Heart students for her hot rolls, cinnamon buns, and brown sugar cookies; many of her recipes live on. It was a wonderful and rewarding experience for her. She was an active member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church for 93 years, and a member of St. James the Greater for the past 8 years.

She loved her family and many friends, and was loved by them. She will forever be missed and remembered as being a strong, independent, intelligent, and truly amazing woman.

Visitation will be held 2pm-8pm Sunday, and 8am-6pm Monday.
A wake service will be held 6:30pm Monday in the Chapel at Resthaven, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial 10:30am Tuesday at St. James the Greater Catholic Church.
