November 26, 2017 brought to a close 72 years of a life well lived for Edward “Ed” Lee Campbell. Ed was born in Alexandria, LA to Thelma Julia (Alvarado) and James H. Campbell. Ed was a man full of pride for both God and Country. He served in the United States Army and went on to join the brotherhood of the Oklahoma City Police Department from which he retired in May of 1990 after 23 years of service. Ed was an active member of the Meeker Masonic Lodge until he moved to Sallisaw. In his spare time he loved to fish for catfish and to go hunting. Ed liked watching old western movies and was a big fan of his alma mater, OSU. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his sister, Mary Ballard. Ed is survived by his wife, Dawn Campbell; sons, Glenn Campbell and wife Angela of Lancaster, SC and Michael Campbell and wife Anita of Amber, OK; daughter, Tammie Harris of Oklahoma City; brother, Chris Campbell of Sparks, OK; grandchildren, Chustin Harris, Shanee Harris, Lillian Campbell, Charles Campbell, James Campbell, Joseph Campbell, Christian Campbell; and many other family and friends. Visitation for Ed will be Thursday, Nov. 30, 2017 at Resthaven from 1-8pm. Services to celebrate his life will be 3:30pm Friday, Dec. 1, 2017 in The Chapel at Resthaven.
