August 7, 2017 brought to a close 55 years of a life well lived for Douglas Leon Stracener. He was born November 30, 1961 to Jane and Ed Stracener. Doug served 9 years in the United States Marine Corps and rose to the rank of Staff Sergeant. Following his discharge he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and went to work for the Veterans Administration. On May 16, 1987 Doug married Mildred Diane Patterson. He enjoyed scuba diving, reading, woodworking, hockey, and football.

Doug was preceded in death by his father, Ed Stracener.

He’s survived by his wife Mildred Diane; mother, Jane Brawner and stepfather Jerry Brawner; sister, Sandy Coolahan; stepmother, Dianne Stracener; his nephew Nicholas Coolahan and his godson Devon Voyles.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.

Graveside services for Doug will be held at 10:00a.m. Tuesday, August 15, 2017 at Resthaven Memory Gardens 500 SW 104th St, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Resthaven Funeral Home and Memory Gardens.
