Derle Wayne Hatchett was born on February 8, 1938 in Oklahoma City and went to meet his Savior and Lord Jesus Christ on January 15, 2018. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy & Ramah Hatchett; brothers, Arthur Hatchett & Calvin Hatchett; and two sisters, Hazel Belcher & Naomi Fuller. He is survived by his wonderful wife of 58 years, Janis; his three children, LaDonna Blanco, Dennis Hatchett, and David Hatchett; his two daughters-in-law, Jeannie Hatchett and Kathy Lee Hatchett; his four grandchildren, Katie Groff, Amy Claire Hatchett, Chris Blanco and Jordan Blanco; and his sister, Joyce Mann. Derle was a lifelong resident of Oklahoma City, where he graduated from Central High School in 1956. After graduating high school, he joined Local Union #124 of the Sheet Metal Workers’ Int. Association and was a member for 50 years. Derle and his wife have been members of Portland Avenue Baptist Church in Oklahoma City since 1977 where they established and led the Adult Special Needs Ministry for 33 years. He was also active in the church’s bus ministry.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, January 19, 2018, at Resthaven Funeral Home.

A celebration service will be at 1 p.m. on Saturday, January 20, 2018 at Portland Avenue Baptist Church in Oklahoma City at 1301 NW Portland, and followed by a graveside service at Resthaven Funeral Home & Memory Gardens.
