Christine Harding

December 15, 1923 ~ November 14, 2017 (age 93) 93 Years Old
Christine Cermak Harding was born in Tuttle, OK, on December 15, 1923, to Lee and Anna Cermak. The following year she moved with her parents to the Oklahoma City area. Christine attended school in Mustang for nine years. She was baptized into Christ on September 1, 1957, at Antioch Christian Church where she remained a life member. When WWII broke out, she went to work at Douglas Aircraft as a riveter, working on C-47 aircraft. Once the war ended, Christine began working at Harlow Publishing Co., where she made textbooks for schools. It was at this job that Christine met her husband, Lawrence Edward Harding. The two married and had three children, Dennis, Catherine, and Elizabeth, who were her pride and joy. Once the children were grown and had families of their own, Christine began working as a seamstress and doing clothing alterations. She grew a bountiful garden of vegetables and flowers, opened her home to numerous guests to enjoy her homemade meals and treats, and leaves a legacy of unconditional love, honest work, and charity.

Christine was preceded in death in 1973 by her beloved husband, Lawrence Harding; her daughter, Catherine Catrett; her son, Dennis Harding, and her siblings Mildred Cermak Bennett, James Cermak, Lee Cermak, Jr., and Alvin Cermak.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory, one sister, Pauline Aikman of Bethany, OK; one daughter, Elizabeth Goeders of Oklahoma City and her husband, Brian; daughter in law, Mary Harding; and grandchildren: Kimberli Harding Brownlee and spouse, Sean, of Edmond, OK; Brian Harding and spouse, Cindy, of Oklahoma City, OK; Mindy Mysinger of Alamosa, CO; and Juli Mysinger Gutierrez and spouse, Roberto, of Dallas, TX, as well as beloved great-grandchildren: Sean Kyle and Mianna Brownlee, Skylynn and Avery Franklin, Leo Gutierrez, and Jax Harding. She is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation will be held 5-8pm Sunday, November 19.

A celebration of Christine’s life will be held 2pm Monday, November 20, in the Chapel at Resthaven, with interment to follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens.
