Charlene Ann Kirkes, 80, passed from this life December 10, 2017 in Edmond, OK. She was born one of twelve children to Wesley and Marjorie (Duffield) Thomason on March 17, 1937 in Stillwell, OK.

Charlene grew up in Oklahoma City and graduated from US Grant High School in 1956. She married Raymond Kirkes, the love of her life, and together they had 5 children. Charlene retired from Target after spending many years as an associate in the cosmetics department. She loved going to thrift stores, working on puzzles, and more recently, playing bingo. She loved angels because she believed everyone needed an angel watching them at all times. She will be dearly missed by her family and all who knew and loved her.

Charlene was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 54 years, Raymond Kirkes; son, Raymond “Pistol” Kirkes Jr.; granddaughter, Deanna Durbin; brother, Jimmy Thomason; and sister, Betty LeMaster.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory, children: Jannie Durbin and husband, Michael, Dennis Kirkes and wife Vickie, Charles Kirkes, and Rick Kirkes and wife Michelle; grandchildren: Karen, April, Dennis Jr., Jeffrey, Nicholas, Charlenia, Katrina, Hunter, Blake, Tabitha, Priscilla, Kimberly, and Raymond III; great grandchildren: Michael, Emily, Kaylynn, Mason, Ethan, Liam, Alec, Brantley, Dane, Kade, Austin and Allie; brothers, Joe Thomason and Mike Thomason; and sisters, Robin Forga, Margie Boggs, Debra Wright, Susie Emerson, Pam Thomason, Gail Thomason, and Maxine Crawford.

A memorial ceremony will be held 2pm Friday, December 15 in the Chapel at Resthaven.
