Alfred Henry Lesseg, Jr., 84, passed away March 21, 2017 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He was born in Webster Groves, Missouri on November 22, 1932 to parents Alfred and Helen. He graduated from Ruskin High School in Hickman Hills, Missouri in 1951. Al served in the Air Force from 1951-1955. He married Shirley Faye Holmes on March 6, 1959 in Memphis, Tennessee. He spent his life taking care of his family and working in retail. He had a long career with T.G.&Y. stores in Missouri, Tennessee and Oklahoma as a successful manager, often setting sales records. He later worked in management for Hobby Lobby in Oklahoma City and Memphis. He was never one to be idle. Even after retirement, he returned to work part-time for Kroger. He loved Cardinals baseball and cheered for both the Memphis Grizzlies and OKC Thunder. He was proud of his grandson and enjoyed going to his school events. Al loved warm weather and being outside; he was always known for having a beautiful yard. He took many fun, family vacations over the years to places such as Gatlinburg, Disneyland, Disney World, Phoenix, Las Vegas, St. Louis, Kansas City and Branson. He even enjoyed an occasional trip to the local casino. He had a kind, gentle manner with others and was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley, and his parents. Al is survived by his daughter Lisa Buck and her husband Roger of Oklahoma City, and daughter Lynn Hamilton and her husband Matt and their son Joshua of Edmond, OK. He is also survived by siblings Betty Lange of Scottsdale, AZ; Bill Lesseg and wife Jeane of Hemet, CA; Bob Walker and wife Diane of Mesa, AZ; Jeanne Ozias of Lee’s Summit, MO; Jerrie Dupree and husband Bill of Gulfport, MS; and Ron Lesseg and wife Sandy of Overland Park, KS. Al considered Tennessee his home and leaves behind a number of extended family members there who loved him dearly. Cremation arranged through Resthaven of Oklahoma City. Inurnment of Al together with his wife Shirley to follow at a later date at Resthaven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the American Heart Association.
